"What do I NEED TO STUDY the day before the exam?"
This is a question I get very often.
From my experience, these are the differences between students who are confident and those who panic right before the exam.
What CONFIDENT students do the day before the exam:
What LOW CONFIDENCE students do the day before the exam:
What CONFIDENT students do the day before the exam:
- Read short summaries of all topics (prepared throughout the year(s)).
- Recap definitions of important keywords and formulae (accumulated gradually from the first topic).
- Stop doing questions (have already practised sufficiently).
- Read through mistakes and learning points from worksheets and ten-year-series (all mistakes and learning points noted down).
What LOW CONFIDENCE students do the day before the exam:
- Do more questions from exam papers or ten-year-series and get demoralised.
- Ask teachers/tutors a million questions that they have doubts on and get confused.
- "Revise" with friends and waste precious time.
- Write summaries and realise the day is gone!
EXAM TIP!
Finish all your exam preparations at least a few days before the exam.
It's OK if you do not remember everything you need to know.
BUT make sure you have understood the concepts and have done sufficient practice questions.
Leave the last minute memory work to the day before the exam.
Use what you have already prepared for the last lap!
